APP
App & Script Complexity
Visible app bloat, third-party scripts, inline scripts, heavy assets, and tools that may be touching revenue-critical pages.
When Shopify reliability starts to slip
I help established brands make messy Shopify stores safer to work on again, with senior cleanup, reliability, and technical debt support.
Storefront Detox helps teams find the hidden mess in fragile themes, overloaded app stacks, and code nobody wants to touch before another app update, campaign launch, agency handoff, or AI-generated snippet turns into a revenue problem.
RUN A MESS CHECK BECAUSE
A lot of Shopify stores are held together by old theme edits, half-removed apps, duplicate scripts, custom cart logic, subscription widgets, tracking pixels, and small fixes from too many hands over too many years.
That does not always show up as an obvious broken page. Sometimes it shows up as slower product pages, fragile add-to-cart behavior, mystery console errors, duplicated tracking, cart drawer weirdness, or a team that is scared to make simple updates.
SHOPIFY MESS CHECK
Shopify Mess Check is a lightweight storefront review that combines automated inspection with senior Shopify judgment.
It looks at the public storefront from the outside: visible app/script complexity, console and network errors, product/cart flow signals, tracking clutter, performance clues, accessibility red flags, and possible technical debt indicators.
No Shopify admin access required. It does not modify your store and it is not a full private codebase audit. If the scan shows deeper risk, the next step is a Shopify Rescue Audit.
RISK SIGNALS
The scan is designed to catch visible storefront risk signals, not to shame your stack, but to identify where future changes may get risky.
APP
Visible app bloat, third-party scripts, inline scripts, heavy assets, and tools that may be touching revenue-critical pages.
CART
Product page basics, add-to-cart signals, cart page/drawer behavior, checkout button presence, and subscription/cart risk areas.
PIXELS
Possible duplicate tracking setups, overlapping analytics scripts, GTM/GA4/Meta/TikTok-style signals, and storefront tracking complexity.
ERRORS
JavaScript errors, failed requests, missing scripts, blocked assets, and repeated browser issues that may affect storefront behavior.
WEIGHT
Large JS/CSS/image files, render-blocking clues, third-party domain count, and page-weight signals.
UX
Buttons without accessible names, missing alt text, duplicate IDs, mobile friction, and obvious usability concerns.
DEBT
Duplicate cart drawers, abandoned app containers, console logs, staging/test artifacts, and other "why is this here?" storefront clues.
AI
Copy-pasted AI snippets, orphaned scripts, broken selectors, redundant logic, and confidently-wrong edits that quietly break storefront behavior.
PROCESS
Send the store URL and any product, collection, or cart issues you already know about. I'll take it from there as no admin access is required to get started.
The storefront is scanned from the outside and reviewed for app/script complexity, PDP/cart risk, tracking clutter, visible errors, and technical debt signals.
You receive a branded PDF and private HTML report with plain-English findings, severity labels, screenshots where helpful, and a recommended next step.
If the store looks clean, great. If the scan surfaces deeper risk, the next step may be a Shopify Rescue Audit, Cleanup Sprint, or monthly reliability plan.
PRIVATE WORK
Most of this work happens behind the scenes: cleaning up fragile theme code, stabilizing app integrations, fixing cart and subscription issues, and helping brands recover from messy handoffs.
Because this work often involves private codebases, internal processes, and past agency decisions, I do not publicly list client names without permission.
The goal is simple: make the store safer, cleaner, and easier to work on without turning someone else's technical mess into public marketing material.
DIRECT SENIOR WORK
When you work with Storefront Detox, you work directly with me.
I do not outsource Shopify cleanup, cart fixes, subscription debugging, code reviews, or theme stabilization work. I keep the client list small so I can stay close to the code and understand the store.
I am a Los Angeles-based developer, born and raised, with 18+ years of hands-on development experience and deep experience across Shopify themes, app-heavy storefronts, subscriptions, cart drawers, tracking, and messy agency handoffs.
IS THIS GOING TO BE A GOOD FIT?
This service is for Shopify Online Store 2.0/theme-based storefronts. I do not take on headless Shopify, Hydrogen, or custom React storefront cleanup through this offer.
AVAILABILITY
I am not building a giant agency or taking on every Shopify request that comes through the door.
I work best with a few established brands that need a senior technical partner to clean up messy theme code, stabilize app integrations, and keep the store safer to update.
Currently accepting 2-3 good-fit Shopify reliability clients.
